Mind
Even though 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, most of us don’t get the help we need. This has to change. We change minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority. By standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those of us with mental health problems.

While we commit to donate to established charities, we recognise we have the opportunity to make a big impact on small groups, too.
If you are a school counsellor, or run an independent support group, please get in touch at hello@sighh.co.uk using your school or charity email address, to discuss stationery donations and monetary donations for use towards resources and equipment. We would love to hear about what you do and how we could help!

2022 - Present
Polly volunteers at a mental health charity, offering peer support to vulnerable adults experiencing low mental health, often due to issues surrounding housing insecurity, ongoing mental health and domestic abuse. In 2023 Polly completed a 12 week training course in Peer Support Preparation For Work with ImROC.
2024 - Present
Polly has taken up part time work as an SEN teaching assistant, offering 1:1 support for primary school aged children with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and ADHD. This is particularly important to Polly who was late diagnosed with ADHD combined type in 2023, and struggled through her school years.
Through my two years of peer support work with vulnerable adults, I received a very kind reference which opened the door for me to use this experience to work with young people.
I am immensely motivated to provide a positive experience of school to children experiencing social and academic challenges. I want to ensure they feel heard and supported by someone, and 1:1 SEN teaching assistants have the ability to provide this while the teacher needs to spread their focus between the rest of the class. I aim to offer an empathetic, encouraging and adaptable presence. It has been a very positive, even healing experience for me so far.
